My wife purchased this bag for my birthday, about 7 years ago. I train to Chicago several days a week, fly a couple of times a month, and also drive to several meetings each months. In short, I use this bag daily in a variety of ways. I have had bags by Hartmann, Tumi, Boyt - all good but with some flaws. This bag has none, It looks great, opens easily when standing or flipped on side, is functional, tough, and still looks virtually new - despite being loaded to capacity frequently. One of the best business accessory purchases I have ever made - and that is saying a lot.

I bought this case several years ago and it quickly became the workhorse in my collection. I have over a dozen briefcases and like to rotate them frequently, but the Tusting/Cambridge Briefbag is the one I use most often. I rarely use the laptop sleeve, but that only gives me more room for other essentials.
Once a month I use a leather cleaner/conditioner to repair the scuffs and scraps I subject the bag to and it comes up looking nearly new.

Beautiful and luxurious
I have looked at these bags in the catalog for years and wanted one for a long time. My wife recently found out and bought me one for my birthday. WOW! What a great surprise.
This bag looks and feels incredible. The attention to detail is evident. The leather is tough but soft to the touch. This is one of those items that help define a person and as I walk into meet with customers I know they see it and respond to it. However, that isn't what makes it great. Even though it was a present, it gives me a feeling of accomplishment to know that I have worked to be in a position to use a bag like this.
The irony of the review is that my only knock is on function because I have carried a laptop backpack for years and all the pockets in the backpack are missed. I have purchased some storage components to use in the bag and would suggest Levenger consider including an inexpensive cube or two with the bag.
Other than that little learning curve for me, I am ecstatic to own this bag.

Great product and service
My wife purchased this bag for me 9 years ago and i greatly enjoy using it daily. This year the zip broke and I contacted customer service. Days later a new bag arrived at my home and the process was hassle free. I already shared my experience with several co-workers and friends and they are planning to make their next quality purchase from levenger.

I had balked at purchasing this due to the price, but bought in when they ran a sale. I am very pleased. I was looking for a case that would stand open next to my chair or at my feat on a train. I can slip folders into it or file papers temporarily in the outside pockets on both sides. the interior pockets are well arranged and useful. Two places for business cards and a slot for a phone or calculator, plus a large zippered pocket to hold things I might loose. In 6 months it has a few scuffs, but still looks great. The interior color, kind of a mustard, put me off at first, but it does allow one to find things in dim light. I don't usually use the laptop sleeve. I replaced it with a Levenger Ambi Leather folio, that I use to store my iPad. I grab the folio for meetings and when I don't want to carry the whole briefcase.

A Bag of Substance
This bag is very substantial, quite handsome, and exudes quality. I expect to own it a very long time.
I do wish there were a few more internal pouches for pens and other miscellany (but it hardly bothers me and forces me to be a bit more organized). One note for you taller gents is to order the extended strap because the default one is a bit too short for me (I’m 6’1”); it would be nice if you could select between the two straps at the time of purchase.
As with the majority of darker colored articles, especially dyed leather goods, markings may rub-off on lighter colored clothing (one of my initial hesitations to ordering the bag). I minimized this risk by rubbing the bag down with a clean shoe-polishing cloth (the cloth turned brownish).
There was zero buyers’ remorse when I received the bag and I’d repurchase it (if I had a time machine) in a heartbeat.

I purchased a leather brief bag about 10 years ago and was so impressed with the quality that I decided to buy another bag. I was impressed with the quality, feel of the leather and the richness of the leather. Many other cases I looked at the leather was too shiny and fake looking but this brief is rich and luxurious. I also liked that there are no logos or brand ID's on the bag. If you want quality, uniqueness and don't need to show off with a designer logo then this is a great brief bag.

The bag stains your clothing
In 2006 I was given a beautiful Levenger Briefcase for my MBA graduation but returned it to upgrade to the Cambridge Briefbag. It was amazing and I loved it. Earlier this year I notice a tear in my zipper and contacted your company to see how I could repair it and to my surprise I was sent a new one. It was great until I realized it was staining my lab coats, kaki pants, jeans, and whatever I wore. I did notice the leather was different than my first. I return it because I thought it was defective. Since I have gotten two more bags with the same type of leather, all of which stain my clothes. With the wonderful help of your sales representative Rivera Lee it was brought to my attention that the bag leather was modified and a warning was placed on your internet catalog site but not your normal print catalog.
I just don't understand, even though this leather is beautiful how can you expect a customer to use it with a white lab coat, kaki pants, jeans or even a $1200 suit? Do you just walk around with your arm extended and never wear the shoulder strap? It is just not consistent with what I have come to expect with the Levenger product. By the way, your service department with individuals like Rivera Lee are also what make Levenger so special.

Not the same leather as the old Cambridge
Very pleased with Levenger's customer service - when the zipper on my original Cambridge briefbag (absolutely loved this one) broke, Levenger quickly replaced with a new Cambridge briefbag.
The new replacement briefcase has a completely different kind of leather than the old briefcase. The old briefcase was made of a lovely leather that was smooth, shiny and glossy - exactly like the stock photos on Levenger's website.
The new briefcase is made of completely different leather - a matte, waxy oiled leather. This leather has stained several pairs of khakis, and shirts and my drycleaner is unable to get the stains out. Most of the photos on the website clearly show the old, glossy leather vs. new oiled matte leather.
Definitely not the same leather that was originally used for the Cambridge. Be careful with your clothes/papers.

Finally, a bag that does it all
I'm not going to lie to you; I have a bag fetish. I have searched high and low, bought and returned myriads of bags, only to covet the Cambridge Briefbag at the Levenger's store in Tyson's Corner (Washington, DC). Admittedly, the retail price turned me off, but lurking in the rear of the store was one Cambridge Briefbag that was on clearance. I still did not act, and I've waited months to pounce, but finally relented and purchased the Cambridge Briefbag, along with the Bomber backpack as a "lite" version to carry essentials to smaller venues. The Cambridge Briefbag fits EVERYTHING I have into one bag. It's discreet - no branded tags, titles, or designer names embossed into the leather. In other words, I don't see myself coming and going with all the other bags that all the other people out there in bag world are carrying. The greatest compliment I can pay Levenger is that I have consolidated everything I have down into this one bag. Finally, the perfect bag.
