Bomber Jacket Shirt Pocket Briefcase
Earlier version better
I am a longtime Levenger fan, especially of your Shirt Pocket Briefcase. In November I received a Bomber Jacket version, monogrammed, as a gift. It's to replace one from the early 1990s. It is beautiful, from the pebbled leather to the plaid lining.
But I like the earlier one better. It's showing wear, but maybe it's got another year left. The problem is the current sizing of the basic SPB, which you've sold for several years. I agree with other reviewers who find that the display card tends to slip out because the length is a hair too big. Needs to be snugger.
The width is a lesser but valid concern. It does not fit in most of my shirt pockets as easily as the earlier version.
Here are my measurements:
The 90s SPB is 3 5/8 x 5 7/8 inches with display card gap of 4 1/4 long.
The 2012 SPB is 3 3/4 x 6 with display card gap length of 4 1/2.
My hangup is that top card tending to slip loose. I have to re-insert it before I take notes etc.
This reminds me of having a great pair of shoes that just never fit quite right. They stay looking new in the closet, because unless the occasion demands it, I choose a more practical, comfortable pair.
I'd return this SPB but for the monogram. Your current Essential Pocket Briefcase is smaller, but the horizontal bars hold cards far better than the Essential's corner slits. I just got a Circa Jotlet and may just start using that for every day.

Great for keeping experiments in order
I use the Shirt Pocket Briefcase to keep my experiments in order. I can jot down the next condition to vary and keep in order what I have already done. I strongly recommend this item to aid in planning experiments. For me, it's more of a Shirt Pocket Lab Notebook.

Bomber Pocket Briefcase
I rated this product 5 stars, because, I thought it would be a 5 star purchase, and having now owned it for months still think its worth 5 stars.(No buyer's remorse here!)
Extremely well made it will last me a life time .
(Isn't that what Quality/value is about?)
Thin enough to keep in a tee shirt pocket
Standard Index Cards fit well.
Since I rotate fountain pens, I did not need a pen slot. (My pens are different sizes)

I carry this in the front flap of my pocketbook tand use it to jot down all those things that pop into my head and I know I'll forget. I've been staying better organized and feeling better about remembering all those little extras that seem to get lost in between all my other priorities. I only wish the personalized 3X5 note cards weren't so expensive. Regular 3X5 index cards fit perfectly.

the restraining bands to secure the 3 by 5 cards in place were set slightly too far apart with the result that the cards would become loose at either the top or the bottom or frequently detach themselves entirely while in the pocket as a consequence of normal body motion

I have been carrying a cheap Buxton notecard carrier for a couple of years. I saw the Levenger shirt pocket briefcases and almost bought one on several occasions. After seeing the bomber collection, I decided that I wanted to have a bomber shirt pocket briefcase. Up until now, the only one available was the pen pocket briefcase, but I carry my pocket briefcase in my back pocket, so I decided to hold out to see if a normal one would come out.
My waiting was well rewarded! This is an outstanding product. The leather quality is second to none, it holds more notecards than the buxton holder, and it is even more comfortable to carry in my back pocket. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that the pocket briefcase came with a plastic magnifier. This is definitely something that I will carry every day. As a student and a researcher, I use my notecards to take lecture notes and to make new discoveries. Now I can work with the comfort and luxury I have come to expect from other Levenger products!
