Rhodia Ruled Note Pad 3.7 5 3 3
A quality, functional pad This is a notepad that will stand up to whatever life brings. As a fountain pen user, I needed a high quality paper that brings out the best in my pens and inks, yet is affordable. The Rhodia pads were the perfect answer. I'm a photographer and naturalist who spends a good deal of time in the field, so the elements can be rough on my tools. The Rhodia's water and dirt resistant cover allows me to focus on the task at hand rather than on whether I'll be able to read my notes at the end of the day. If you're looking for a luxury notebook to chronicle your memories, a bound journal is more suitable. The pad's detachable pages offer flexibility, but don't have the "legacy" feel of a bound book. The Rhodia offers quality and functionality, performing exactly as intended since the the 1930's. The times may have changed, but the Rhodia's versatility and simplicity have not. October 25, 2010
Not for Fountain Pens I ordered three of these pads, specifically because they were touted as great for fountain pens. However, while the quality of the paper is great, the ink from my pens doesn't "fix" and remains smudge-able for many minutes (10+). With the Levenger paper I've used the ink fixes in about 3-4 minutes. The Rhodia paper and the pads themselves are high-quality and I especially like fold-back cover on these pads, and while I'll use them with other writing instruments, they were a disappointment for fountain pen use. An old friend I have been a fan of Rhodia pads for a long time. I used to have two favorite stationery stores and scour their shelves. There is a feeling to the paper that is unmistakable. I just got a really good fountain pen and it calls out for the lined Rhodia pad. The combination of a valuable pen and delightful paper makes my penmanship better. In an era when email has replaced handwriting, Rhodia is almost an ideal of sorts. May 7, 2010
