I rec'd a bungee about 10 yrs ago in a readers book bag. I have purchased many more over the years. I still have my original bungee in use in my daily agenda so it has seen a lot of use. The elastic is starting to wear a little thin but it's still hangin' in there after all these years. I've since ordered at least a dozen for my personal use and for gifts. I miss the bright color option. I recently saw and ordered a similar product from another catalog for price option. What a piece of junk. The plastic was thinner and it bent out of shape and broke almost immediately. Stick with the original-Levenger. Their products are worth the extra cost! Wait for sales and stock up!

Maybe it's me, but this broke after about a month of use.I will admit that I am a bit rough on books, and maybe my interactions with my three-year old son had something to do with it ...After about a week, I noticed the bungee seam getting a bit stretched out, nearing the breaking point. Then, about three weeks later, the top part of the bookmark with the slot for the bungee broke off. Bungee part is now no longer attached to the bookmark part.On a side note, the bookmark is made of thick (~2mm?) hard black plastic that might not work for a lot of books --- you could wreck the binding. The bungee is pretty tight, so this won't work so good for paperbacks either.I still enjoyed using this before it broke, so I am considering getting another one and being more careful with it.

The book bungee is the only book mark I have ever liked. I bought many both for myself and as gifts, always with rave reviews. I think it was the first product I was ever given from Levenger and it started a love affair with this company, which used to be dubbed "Tools for Serious Readers," if I remember correctly. I never imagined I'd see the day that the book bungee, what I considered a Levenger staple, would no longer be available. Please bring it back and be quick about it. Thanks!

PLEASE PLEASE BRING THESE BACK. This is a great product. Nothing else like it anywhere. Checked bookstores and online. Both a bookmark and keeps book closed. Notebook Belts that replaced them do not have a bookmark attached.Steve and Lori, not sure if you read these, but this is one product line, you need to return to the Catalog......
Bring them back please

I am very disappointed to find book bungees are no longer available. They worked very well and drew lots of comments from others who thought them innovative. I agree with the other customer on the notebook belts...I have no need of a pen holder.
Seriously? These are no longer available? I can't quite figure out why you have discontinued this product and appear to have replaced it with an elastic strap that can hold a pen. Who needs a pen when they are reading? And one that can't even serve as a bookmark? If I only wanted to keep my book closed I could use a regular elastic band. Very disappointed. For what it's worth, I have carried an extra book bungee in my purse for years and have handed out at least 20 to random people. They see me using one and ask me where I got it. When that happens I just hand them one and tell them to enjoy it.
best and fav
I have been using the book bungees for years and am saddened that they are no longer offered. Maybe an American company can produce them for Levenger and bring back the quality of the product.
I ordered one, and had another one come with a tote I purchased. Both broke. I was using them to close a fairly small book (Stardust, by Neil Gaiman), and the plastic snapped when it was in the side pocket of the tote, so the bungee is not attached to the plastic bookmark anymore. I tried the second one, and the same thing happened. I contacted Levenger and they said they'd send me a new one (they haven't yet), but since both broke, I'm not sure I even want a replacement. I'm disappointed because I thought the bungee was really neat.

I have many bungee myself and given them for gifts. After several years they will stretch…then I just use them for very large books. The bungee can also be used sideways if the book is large. When can we get red, yellow or true blue again. I do like to color coordinate bungee and book cover.

I own several of these Bungees, and this year I decided to order one for each of my colleagues in the department as gifts. We all carry our paperback college texts in our briefcases and backpacks. The Book Bungees keep the pages from curling and the spines of the books from splitting, even on those 4-inch thick anthologies. These are great products and so very reasonably priced.
Protects Larger Books

Larger Novels and other soft cover books are difficult to keep from getting bent, folded and otherwise destroyed. The Book Bungee protects them in a way that other book covers and bands have not. It marks your page and then contains the book in a way that prevents damage especially when carrying books around, i.e. to beach, pool, etc. An inexpensive way to take care of books.
Another use for the book bungee
from Overland Park, Kansas
I used to use these book bungees as bookmarks for paperback books, but most of my reading is done electronically now. I have found that they are the perfect size to keep my Circa compact notebook closed in my purse, keeping the pages pristine.
