5 Year Journal Poem
My five year journal, is forever eternal
A story untold, with meanings to unfold
Forever my own, a stepping stone
Myself I hope to learn, with no sad return
Forever eternal, will live my journal

My Daily Life
I wasn't quite sure from the description what to expect, but this journal is great! I'll be able to look back year after year on the same date what I was doing at the time. I'll be able to see changes and growth (hopefully! ;-) ) within myself. I've never been much of a writer in journals, but this little guy is different. Love it!

Great Long Term Journal
I bought this journal with the goal of having just 1 book for 5 years so I could compare day entries over time. It satisfied this wish and more...great quality binding and paper, a ribbon marker, about as much space for each entry as a typical day journal. The only reason I withheld a star overall is that the pages have wide spaced lines, which could be limiting unless one likes to write small or between the lines. Otherwise just perfect!

Just received this and was very impressed with the quality. From my early use it seems to be enough space for brief daily notations. I like that a full 5 years can be contains in one book.

I got several of these as potential gift items. Once I had a small supply I found that they the journal was relevant and appropriate for several friends. Now I'll have to order some more.

This journal allows the writer the entire width of the page across unlike some journals that take up a portion of the page for margins, captions, or quotes. I like this journal because it does not have any captions, quotes or margins. The space belongs all to the writer. I am not a typical journal writer, but still care to record what I later may wonder about such as a daily temperature or when an event happened. There is space for five years on each page providing five lines for each year. This journal is bound well like a book is. Barely worth mentioning is even though it has a hard cover, I wish the cover were a little thicker than it is but I am still very satisfied with it and look forward to writing in it every day.

Not truly hardcover, so-so binding, but functional
I've been keeping diaries for 24 years. The best journals have stitched or (larger) spiral bindings; many mass-produced journals have glued-in pages that will fall out over use and time. The pages in this journal are stitched in, but the stitches are kind of wide and seem a little loose. I will be curious to see how it holds up over the next five years.
For the price and style, this would have been a five-star review for me, but I think buyers should know that this is not truly hardcover. The cover is like a bendable layer of cardstock with fabric over it. That means that when I write my left-page entries, I have to use my other hand beneath it to steady the page and keep it flat.
My last five-year journal was made by C.R. Gibson (D5-3869). I paid the same amount for it, but it had better stitching and a true hardcover. However, the faux leather on the spine started to shed after four years of use. So, neither were perfect.
This is the right size for a five-year journal -- half-size, with five lines to write about each day. Try to use shorthand and write specific details! It won't mean anything to you 15 years from now if you just wrote down, "Nice dinner with mom." It will mean something if you write down a funny or moving thing mom said during that dinner. I own a vintage 5-year diary from the 1930s... The owner was a farmer, and each day was "worked on the farm" or "cloudy outside today." Not very awe-inspiring or moving... lol

classy and functional
i have been using a 5-year journal in much smaller format and love it. my husband asked for one as a Christmas gift; i wanted to find a larger one for him because he also does small sketches a lot. this was the only one i could find that was not completely hideous...just the opposite; i was thrilled with the quality and the classy design. being able to personalize it was wonderful too. highly recommend.

Great Beginning Journal
As someone new to journalling, I liked the five year format. Only having five lines for each day removes the pressure to write in quantity, and simply encourages me to write. The journal itself is nicely constructed with good quality paper that seems to get along well with both my fountain pen and my left handedness.

I have had my eye on this journal since I first found out about it earlier this year. This Christmas, I received it as a Christmas gift from a family member. I can't wait to start writing in it! The cover is beautiful, and I love the leather stamped piece on the front. It wasn't engraved with my initials, but I am sending it in to have them do that for me. Thanks for making an awesome product!
