5 Year Journal Poem
My five year journal, is forever eternal
A story untold, with meanings to unfold
Forever my own, a stepping stone
Myself I hope to learn, with no sad return
Forever eternal, will live my journal

My Go-To Gift
I'm at a time in my life when I know lots of grads, newly weds, and others marking major life milestones. I give this gift regularly to help them mark the milestone and show their evolution over time. I frequently get messages from recipients expressing how much they enjoy being able to reflect on where life has taken them over the five years.

decent 5 year journal
I have been hunting for a five year journal, since the one I used to have was discontinued. I found this, and it works. The cover is a grey linen type and the personalization is a nice touch. The paper is decent quality. The other journal had different feature that I liked - a summary page for each month and year. This one is strictly the days. It's a little heavy for travel, but I still take it with me.

Poor personalization job
I otherwise like the product: the cover quality, binding, etc. But I made the mistake of personalizing it it appears. They got my letters correct, but what is used to do the personalization is some sort of press obviously since there is a weird imprint of 2 lines about a .25" in from the right stitching of the centered leather box. It's distracting and disappointing, and apparently something I get to think about for the next 5 years now.

Childhood chronicles
I use Levenger's 5-year journals to chronicle milestones from my kids, one journal each. I started nearly 8 years ago, with the handsome leather-bound, clasp-style books. I loved the classic styling of those, but they were very pricey. I was thrilled to see Levenger introduce the 5-year journal again a few years back (just in time to begin our third journal). The daily format is perfect for recording a short notable accomplishment, a routine, or just a snapshot of what is going on in my kids' lives on a particular day in a particular year. All of us enjoy flipping back through past entries, reminiscing about what we wouldn't have necessarily otherwise remembered. I hope Levenger continues to carry this product for many, many years to come!

A great idea
I bought my first 5 year journal this year (2011) with plans to use starting in 2012. It is very good paper for fountain pens and does seem to have a solid binding. Perhaps mine is suffering from humidity but the card used as the cover seems a little flimsy. This is not a down check but if longevity is the goal, you might want to consider a sturdier stock.

Great 5-Year Journal
Perfect for a gratitude journal, in which you write five things that you're thankful for at the end of each day. I've used mine for a year now, and it's great to see my entries from last year.

At last
At last I have a diary that I seem to be using daily. The product is excellent in quality and design and the space for each day is large enough to be useful, but not so large as to be daunting. I use a fountain pen and the journal loves real ink!
At 65 I don't expect to fill too many of these books, but I hope production carries on as long as I do!
This is one of Levenger's best!

I wrote up a full review here:

Bottom Line: The quality is extraordinary. The paper is bright, thick and takes fountain ink well with no feathering. The binding is clearly meant to last as a living document of record to be passed down for generations. The cloth and leather make it a stately addition to any desk or shelf. If I have one concern it is this – will I have enough for all of my years. I am seriously considering buying 10 more right now, for fear that I may not be able to 50 years from now.

Great Value
This product is not offered anywhere else and I highly recommend it - what the specs don't say is that the paper is heavy weight (60#?) and fountain pen ink doesn't bleed through. I don't miss the latching strap found on the prior Levenger version. I've purchased two more because this type of product is too rare to search for after you're done with the first five years!
