Praise in prose Circa is great Who would have guessed Get in on this steal and clean up your mess April 16, 2010
Offers great flexibility October 23, 2008
Great product the beauty of this product is that you can move pages around. It helps keep everything organized. If I end up with too many pages, I can get bigger circles to hold it all together. The quality is very good, and there are plenty of accessories to customize this to what I need. June 17, 2013
Love this kit!! The papers and other inclusions in this kit are truly irresistible. The quality of the paper (thick, smooth) and the assortment of products are just what I was looking for. I am designing my book right now and have designed one for my teenage daughter to help her stay on track in such a fun way. The design of the books using discs to hold each all together is a fascinating concept...and one that works. I have been using my two books from the kit for weeks now and have felt less stressed and overwhelmed at work because it is so easy and fun to get and stay organized. Also, I have a special place in my letter-sized book to record my findings, ideas and results of redecorating my kitchen and daughter's bedroom. This kit is the best...you won't be disappointed! Circa Is Nice, But There Are ... I just bought the Sampler Kit because I knew I that I could not come out of the deal a loser. Worst case, since I buy from Levengers at least several times a year several times a year so the Gift Card won't go to waste or just "used to be used"! I have used their "flip over top ring books" for years (in actuality for my usage the plastic covers are better suited than the leather ones because the leather ones are just too bulky for this type of product. This year I took the plunge, and when I received my 20% discount coupon I bought the heavy duty paper punch. That is the real trick to Circa, as I found out with my original "Flip Top pads". I can fill it with myi personalized 3x5 cards for one type of usage, and fill the plastic covered book with inexpensive 3x5 index cards from the "$$Store". I saved enough the 1st year (& it was a long time ago) to break even on the punch. I am not sure that I can do that in one year with the heavy duty punch I bought along with this pack. My big gripe is that I virtually always write with an ink pen, aka "Fountain Pen". While it is impossible to avoid them, I even consider cartridge/converter pens as "Impostors". Fountain pens should fill with ink in an internal reservoir, and and it needs to be filled with ink out of a bottle or inkwell. None of the paper that comes with this kit are well suited for liquid ink in a nib pen writer. They seem to be designed for gel ink roller balls and ball point pens. Too much spreading, bleed through, and ragged edges on the written letters. but, aha, hence the paper punch. High quality, high rag contend heavyweight, well-finished papers are readily available, and my secretary can punch more sheets in a half hour than I can use in a half-year. Second point is my handwriting would have to improve to be rated terrible. Must have something to do with dip ink pens and inkwells in grade school? I hope that most do not consider this cheating, but since modern day solid ink (Xerox "Crayon") printers, laser printers and even inkjets, unlike typewriters cannot be aligned so that printed word is aligned with the lines on a sheet of paper. Solution number two, when my notes are ready to be "archived" the fix is in there as well. Scan a sheet of the type of printed paper you prefer, I like the side annotated full size sheets, and as I said, I hate cheap(er) types of paper so I have learned to scan in the type of print that I want, put it on the type of paper (heavyweight, high quality. truly archival (one of the reasons for using solid ink printers). In the end, I have come to use the pre-printed sheets as "draft" copies I set out some basic information and then write the notes. On the way back to the office, I'll dictate (now that I have lost the sweetest old lady, my last secretary, and perhaps the last human being on earth that can take shorthand on a pad, and produce the net results of my thoughts, observations and diagnostic analysis in the form of a properly prepared report tp be forwarded in accordance with a client's distribution goals. Now, with Dragon 12, the biggest change is that I talk into a digital recorder, one of my temps. runs it off in draft copy while I review my notes for any required changes, etc. Do what I should have done years ago, jump in head first ( or at least as soon as you know that you will like, or at least continue to use the Circa system (and as soon as you notice that these books fold over flat, less stressful stressful all around (& probably one of the major reasons that the only real flaw in the Circa system, its Achilles heal, is the weakness of the contact point between the book disks and the paper is not viewed as "fatal" is the flexibility of the disk binder) bite the bullet, buy the heavy duty punch and add to your flexibility, as well as your productivity. If you have any doubts, load the Dragon 12 into your laptop and when you finish your project or subordinate components then instead of trying to remember everything, or confusing details, dictate into Dragon on your laptop, and have a viable scanned form in your PDF converter software. Put the computer on your secretary's desk and permit here sufficient time to work her "magic" You now have completed notebooks that you can "bind" your reports and publish in house. If you give it a fair shot and take advantage of the $40.00/$40.00 deal on the Sample Kit, bite the bullet on that expensive punch and if ATC puts you into a holding pattern on approach, or gives you a different routing that puts out at the yolk longer than planned you might even have printer ready work on hand when you are cleared to land, Then all she has to do is to "clean up any typos or Voice Recognition error and have a reasonable number of copies printed, assembled and ready for presentation. More 3/4" discs please The only real complaint I have about this kit is that an assumption is made regarding which discs should go with the Junior vs. Letter sized covers. I prefer to have a thick Junior notebook and a thinner Letter sized one, but I can't get both with this kit; I'll have to spend money on 22 more 3/4" discs just to fill out the missing 3. Individual style & Organization As a long time Levenger fan this is my newest fave May 27, 2013
Excellent intro to Circa I've been a long time user of Frankin Covey products but always found that my planning and note taking wound up being separate under this system. Circa seemed a good option and this intro pack is a great way to try it out for yourself to see if you like it. It turned out I liked it quite a bit and have begun to load up on other Circa products, yet I'm still finding good uses for most of what came in this starter pack. I'f you're considering giving Circa a try, I highly recommend this sampling kit as an inexpensive way to see if it's going to work for you or not. And of course if it does work out, you can use the gift card which makes the sampler kit basically free at that point. May 25, 2013
GREAT! I saw all sorts of folks running around with these binders with black discs - they looked so professional and like everyone was in on a secret that I wasn't. Since it was only the most professional folks who had these, I just HAD to ask one what it was all about. They showed me how it all worked AND that if I ordered a starter kit, I would get virtually the same amount I spent in a gift card. I couldn't sign up fast enough. I love my system, and plan to get much more of the product for all my different organization needs. May 20, 2013
So Glad I Changed My Mind! The Circa Sampling Kit was not my first choice. Even though I had never owned Circa (but had long wished to), I was convinced I would want the junior size and had come to the website to finally purchase one. I stumbled on the Sampling Kit as I browsed, and was enticed by the ability to try out both sizes basically for free. I'm so glad I did! I can't wait to come back and spend my $40 gift card - on LETTER size filler pages. And even though I've changed my mind and now want to use the Letter size, I'm glad to have the "starter kt" for the Junior size in case I want to switch in the future. Thanks, Levenger! May 13, 2013
