Dependable workhorse The Lamy Al-Star cannot be beaten as an everyday user. The pen is solid, writes well and has an attractive Bauhaus design .Nibs are easily swapped and you can use regular cartridges of bottled ink with a converter. At the price there are few pens that come close for design, dependability and durability. September 25, 2014
Best pen Ever!!! I love how easy it is to use. The ink drys fast and does not smear. The pen is easy to hold too. February 26, 2015
Smoooooth writing Just received my Lamy All Star. Beautiful color outside and came with a lovely blue shade of ink. It writes so smoothly and although the pen is thick, it is nicely sculpted for one's fingers so a perfect fit for my small hands. I ordered the fine point because many reviews said it was more like a medium point nib. Wrong wrong wrong. Fine point is definitely a fine point. I wish I had ordered the medium point so will just have to order another nib. One good thing about this ink and the fine point is that the ink does not show through to the back on regular binder paper. All in all a great pen. January 26, 2015
Interesting Pen This is my first non-Levenger True Writer pen (I have several of different weights). Looks: Beautiful color (grey). A little bit larger than I expected (thicker). Function: Snap cap seems pretty strong, (although I do like the twist cap of the True Writers) and the wire clip is very sturdy. The grip is nice - non-slip. The weight is a bit lighter than I'm used to, and so I'll need to practice writing with it for a bit before I really start using it at work. Writing: I love the fine-tip. It's finer than the True Writer (I think this is Japanese fine tip, as I read). Will also need some getting used to, but I do like it. Overall, not a bad second fountain pen. I wish it was a bit heavier, but I'll get used to it. December 22, 2014

Perfect Everyday Pen Just started using this pen last week. Its light, well made, writes and sketches superbly. I'm not afraid to stuff it on my pocket or messenger bag. A great all around everyday fountain pen indeed! April 5, 2014
Awesome Pen Very happy with this pen. I need several more just like it. January 27, 2014
So happy This pen just glides along the paper, it is so stylish and I love the grip. I think it will be my favorite pen from now on. October 27, 2013
Good value I am impressed with the quality of this pen for the price. It writes very smoothly and every time. The "fine" point in my view is more like a medium. June 22, 2013
A workhouse fountain pen This is a workhouse fountain pen. I use it daily to write in my journal and I write about five 8X10 pages a day. It takes Lamy ink cartridges and bottled ink in the converter extremely well. The best part is you can purchase additional Lamy nibs to fit (like Calligraphy nibs) and enhance your cursive writing with just a nib change. I keep the pen standing up in a pencil cup and I clean the pen every week and it keeps on writing beautifully. October 3, 2012
