Levenger Wired Notebook Annotation Ruled
one of the best it products for Levenger
I have been a user of Levenger products since the 1990's. This product is one of the best products that they have created. The spiral noteback keeps my notes together. I bought several just in case Levenger decides discontinue this product.

Long-time favorite notebooks
I've been a long time user of Levenger's pads and notebooks. My all-time favorite is the spiral bound, annotation ruled notebook. I use them for journaling, reading notes, class preparation, and the wide left margin helps me write reminders or use the Cornell notetaking system.
I've used this particular style of notebook for years, but the recent batch seems to be less durable. The wire spirals started to come out of the pages, after only a short time (a few weeks) of using the notebook. I have older versions of the same notebooks, still in use, and they are as sturdy as ever. The paper is excellent, and the format is perfect for me, so I hope/expect the last few I've bought are just an odd lot.

great notepad, poor backing
I was pleased overall. My only complaint is that the notepad does not have a stiff backing. I do a lot of writing in note pads. It may be the way I use them (balanced against the steering wheel, on my lap, or simply held in the hands) but I would prefer a substantial cardboard backsheet for a firmer writing surface. As it is, I need to carry another pad or clipboard to use as backing.

What happened to the older wired notebooks?
I ordered 4 of these, and they all fell apart. I called customer service and we worked everything out. I am satisfied with the resolution. The notebooks are now perforated. I used to buy these without the perforation, and the quality was so much better with the spiral binding. For some reason, the spirals on these newer notebooks aren't completely closed so covers and pages come apart. The paper is still great quality but don't expect to carry this around much. Works fine as a jotter on my home desk. Please bring back the non-perforated notebooks from a few years ago!

Will not buy again
Was very disappointed. both covers fell off. I should have returned the second notebook, but decided to use it at home for jotting down notes, it never left the desk... very disappointed.

The multicolor with fountain pen
I'm a huge fan of Levenger paper, as a fountain pen user. I have no trouble with freeleaf white, white circa, or the white wire bound. The colored paper almost seems to have a waxy coating and I can't use mt fountain pens on it. (also the colored paper in this notebook has pretty strong chemical smell, to my nose) Works fine with my gel rollerballs, but the performance with fountain pens is a big disappointment.

Wishing for a Grid
I love the wired notebooks. The other reviews are correct in asking for a hardbound option. I miss the grid, a full page grid would be great.

Great paper/Spiral could be improved
I love the convenience of having the great Levenger paper in a spiral notebook. The design of the spiral. however, could be improved. The notebook cover tends to wear and become detached from the spirals each time when I'm about 2/3s through the notebook. I like to fold the notebook over and write on the backs of the pages - so I prefer not to use a leather cover.

The best notebook for true note takers
I've been a huge fan of Levenger paper and pads for several years. After looking for a way to keep my notepad pages together in one place, I was thrilled when they came out with a spiral-bound notebook that has the same design as their classic notepads.
The paper quality is excellent and I find the unique page markings a great way to keep my thoughts, notes and important ideas organized and easy to find. I put a big red arrow or dot next to important ideas and the topic and date fields at the top make finding notes chronologically a cinch.
Bottom line: I feel naked in meetings without my Levenger Notebook!
I'm about as picky as it comes when it comes to my notebooks so if you can please me, you can please anyone. The only minor setback (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 on "Function") is that backside pages early in the notebook can be a little difficult to write on as you get to the right side and run into the spiral binding. I usually only right on the front side for that reason. (Kind of how you "Lefties" feel all the time!)
When Levenger comes out with a sewn binding with the same page design that lays flat no matter what page you are on, that one will be my dream notebook. Until then, this one is my favorite.

Good but could be better
The paper is good quality and I like the annotation margin. I have noticed that two other reviewer have requested a hard back so it would be easier to take notes when no desk surface is available. I agree. It would also be nice if there was a pocket for paper/ business cards etc like a moleskine, but I’d settle for a hard back.
