PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Dip into a classic American microbrew
If you still practice the ancient and satisfying art of writing with a fountain pen, you should be rewarded with ink that more than satisfies. Levenger Bottled Ink is what fountain pen ink should be: smooth and rich, designed to last, formulated to delight.
Why you'll experience such a satisfying write
Levenger inks resist fading as well as feathering. They are moist on your nib but dry readily on your paper (especially helpful for left-handed writers). They're lightfast and maintain a crisp line without spreading. The even saturation ensures no skipping.
And Levenger inks come in a panoply of colors -- to match your mood, suit the occasion, enliven the page.
Enjoy ink that's American-made and rigorously tested
We brew Levenger ink right here in the U.S. The formula is closely held and conforms to our exacting specifications. As part of our testing, we've asked professional calligraphers to put the inks through their paces.
Levenger inks have also been time-tested by the many customers who have dipped their nibs into a bottle. We've been offering this microbrew since 1998.
A few tips about the colors of Levenger inks
The Raven Black is semi-permanent, and therefore ideal for record-keeping. The other colors are washable. In the photo, the color you see in the bottle is lightened a bit to better show you the ink color.
  • 50 ml
  • Glass bottle
  • Inkwell inside the bottle for easier dipping

Dip your nib into the ink designed to perform on the page with every stroke of your pen.

I use my fountain pen for everything from writing up field notes while doing environmental studies in my work to drafting out designs for leather products and hand-made knives I create in my spare time. As a result, color fastness, drying speed and color intensity are important to me. Field notes can not be replaced and must be durable enough to stand up to being handled over years. Designs have to be clear enough to be read through dust, dirt and the other mess you generate in the shop. Also, being able to fill my pen before a meeting with out getting ink all over my hands is also important. The Levenger bottle is not only handsome enough to leave out on your desk, but its internal basket lets you fill your pen without having to insert your converter so far that you get ink on your fingers - even when the bottle is nearly empty.

I hope Levenger keeps this product unchanged and available for decades to come. I also wish they would bring back the old Rotring pens.

This is horrible

Not sure if I got something defective or what. It clotted every single pen I tried, with both cartridges and converters. Not sure why it's so bad when everyone else seems to love...Read complete review

Skies of Blue is the perfect blue

By

from Portland, OR

Verified Buyer

Comments about Levenger Bottled Ink:

You can never have too many blues, right? I think Skies of Blue is the perfect blue because it is deep enough to command attention but has enough brightness to make it pop. It will be my go-to color for writing notes and letters. I absolutely love it.

Returned to the Best!

By

from Boulder, CO

Comments about Levenger Bottled Ink:

20 or so years ago, I purchased several very nice fountain pens from Levenger, since those days I've gone on acquire many more (than I can justify!) and probably 50 bottlers of ink--always looking for the right blues. Well, I still had two Leveger inks--Skies of Blue and Cobalt in my case. I broke them out the other day--after nearly 15-20 years old and they were still perfect. So,now that I can compare to the big ink names--I have to say--I will be returning to Levenger for my inks--Very happy to see that Skies of Blue is still available.. as soon as my budget will allow--I will be ordering! Thank you Levenger for keeping classics, but still keeping the product line fresh. I've noticed a return to marketing several other pen brands and that is good! Frank

Could we have a pink ink

By

from SoCal

Comments about Levenger Bottled Ink:

I have purchased two bottles of Levenger ink. Cobalt Blue and Shiraz. Love both colors and how it performs. Smooth and even flowing in all my L-Tech 3.0 fountain pens. With all that said, I would love to have Levenger offer a lovely pink. Pomegranate looks to be the only color that is somewhat pink. Having read other reviews, Levenger previously offered a pink color ink. Please consider bringing back a pink colored ink to the selection.

Great ink formula, but ugly color

By

from Colorado Springs, CO

Comments about Levenger Bottled Ink:

I ordered the Levenger ink called Pomegranate. It was a fantastically fluid, wet ink, and had a great flow in my pen. However, the "pomegranate" color which looked beautiful on my monitor (a marvelous, rosy mauve) looked NOTHING like that in person. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but the color of this ink wasn't even CLOSE to the description or the picture. And I don't think it was simply a difference in monitors; it was WAY off the mark. I probably won't buy any more of these inks because there's no way to tell how the color will come out in reality. This bottle will probably be going down the drain. It's not worth the price of shipping to try and return it. This is my first purchase from Levenger, and I must say I'm not impressed.

Inks that effervescent your page!

By

from Redding, CA

Comments about Levenger Bottled Ink:

Besides Cocoa I have Cobalt Blue, Blue Bahama and, True Teal which are rich vibrant colors. When I write to my daughters, the love the variety of colors I choose. I write a lot of songs that I record at my professional Recording Studio (Back Roads Recording). I love to highlight words as I wire the songs with different colors. This stimulates my thinking, gives me a kind of synesthesia effect (multi-modal knowing) that can enhance your writing. Let's say it this way, it gives you a meta-cognitive perspective as you are writing…do you get my drift? This is s high-tech way of saying it gives you an edge on writing…simple as that. I could say at I can hear the colors as I write that give me ideas for tunes of the songs;. Hey…they are great treats you don't get from typing! Bernie Griff

All the bottled inks I have purchased are excellent

By

from Kent WA

Comments about Levenger Bottled Ink:

I like using these bottled inks for correspondence written on rag content paper. The color saturation allows for good presentation and the even flow rate gives good consistency even on textured papers. Using a good nib helps also for any width of tip.
