Excellent upgrade I have been using the old school composition notebooks for years and witnessed the deterioration of the paper quality. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the paper of these Notabilia notebooks. My writing is smoother and the ink doesn't run through the paper. They are perfect for journaling. Maybe someday you will have an unlined one…Great product. I will be reordering. March 8, 2014
Please bring back the gridded paper! I'm a teacher and I use the comp books to write my daily notes for my classes. I will work problems and write the notes the students will get on the front sides of the pages and then after I teach the lesson I write in improvements and ideas for next year or even the next day on the back pages (when its open the lesson page and reflections page are next to one another). These journals stay together and last MUCH longer than the ones you buy at the office supply stores and the paper is a dream to write on. My hand doesn't get as cramped when I use these. BUT… the subjects I teach require a lot of graphs and sketches so I want the gridded paper (or little dots) so it's easier to keep things lined up. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the Notabilia journal with GRIDDED paper! PLEASE?? March 1, 2014
Good notebook for fine pens This notebook has much higher quality paper than the notebooks you can get at stores. What is really nice is that they fit in a fabulous leather jacket, also from Levenger. I do agree with some of the other comments that it would be nice to offer this design in a grid. oh how I long for blank pages... I have been a long time user of Notbilia refills, once when cash was tight I used a old school black and white marbled refill. (bad idea) The paper is smooth and dense, creamy and so easy for my fountain pen to glide over. Now there is no grid paper option (so sad about this) and there NEVER was a blank page unlined option as far as I know. Oh how I wish and wish and WISH there would be! Heads up, my leather cover in light brown is about 8 years old, and has taken on the most gorgeous broken in, well loved patina, all stitching and binding is in great shape. Keep up the quality, bring back grid notebooks, and PLEASE make unlined/ un-ruled notebook refills. PLEASE? January 4, 2014
Durable, Smooth Writing Surface I've bought these notebooks as refills many times for my leather portfolio cover. Lately, I'm using the notebooks in my Italian class. Because I review my notes many times over, I am very glad the pages are so durable. And in class, the smooth writing surface makes taking notes nearly effortless. This is a wonderful product! Great notebook I'll admit it -- I bought these to meet a minimum purchase amount in order to get a discount. I'll admit that I was pleasantly surprised by them. They are just a smidge larger than a traditional cardboard composition notebook, but, they are much better made, and bound, and the cover is more flexible, yet still quite sturdy (and, I think it would be forgiving if you got a drop or two of coffee on it.) I like the paper -- it's thicker than a traditional composition notebook -- writing in it with a ballpoint pen, the ink doesn't bleed through, or show through. And, with a good pencil, the writing experience is very nice. I've got one on my desk, that I use to outline poems, and, I've got one in my messenger bag -- the flexibility of the notebook works well in the bag. I've only had it a short time, so I don't know how it will hold up for the long term, but, after a week of being carried around in a bad with a laptop, a tablet, a DSLR camera, and various other supplies for my work, it still looks new. Bring back the Notabilia Grid Paper I love the leather cover option for notabilia notebooks, but have not bought it because they no longer sell the notabilia notebook as grid paper. I tried the old school b&w marbled notebooks, but the ink of the gridlines gets all over my hands, the pages are thin, and ink bleeds through to the other side of the page. Grid lovers - what has been your notabilia substitute? I'd like a grid notebook that fits the leather cover, with all the good features of the original notabilia grid notebook. November 10, 2013
Missing the GRID I love these notebooks and the spiffy leather cover. They are my favorite vehicle for taking notes and committee and board meetings. I am HEARTSICK that they are no longer available in the grid. Please bring these back. There is nothing else like this available anywhere. Bring back the GRID! October 24, 2013
Outstanding quality of paper! As muscle spasms and tremor disorder have eroded my handwriting, paper quality and good rollerballs have become more important for my continuing to journal! These notebooks are outstanding! Thank you. October 21, 2013
A Durable Space to Create These notebooks are exceptional you can tell from the moment you first open them that they are very different from notebooks I have had in the past. The weight of the paper makes it that I do not have to be concerned about the pen I am using from ball points to fountain pens I have not had any bleed through. I would highly recommend these to anyone that is taking notes, wanting to capture thoughts, or journaling. I am using one currently to capture ideas for projects that I want to undertake and sparking my creativity. September 22, 2013
