Pencil aficionados from John Steinbeck to Thomas Wolfe have sung the praises of the Palomino Blackwing pencil, which was originally created in the 1930s by Eberhard Faber. Many corporate acquisitions later and amid dropoff of pencil enthusiasm, this beloved pencil was discontinued...but not forgotten. Charles Berolzheimer II has brought it back.

Works very well I have never used a pencil sharpener that worked as well as this one. I am, however, very careful with the cover. It does not feel extremely sturdy. March 13, 2013

Produces a Really Sharp Point I bought this for use with the Blackwing Firm Pencils, It is fantastic for producing a sharp point. I have tried other lead pencils on it and it works beautifully on them too. January 12, 2013

Awesome sharpener I love how this sharpener sharpens the wood and then the point, creating a long, sharp point. I have used this on Rhodia's pencils and it works great. I am planning to get some Palominos in the future! December 20, 2011
