Good pen
Good basic style pen, especially for the price.

The Obsiddian pens from Levenger are some of the best so far in the True Writer series. These are great pens at a great price.

Great pen value
I have a collection of true writer roller balls and fountain pens so this was my first ballpoint purchase. The pen has a solid feel and looks like a more expensive pen. I like the fact that it uses gel refills as an alternative to the ball point refills.

Best pen I have ever had!
When I talk about value, I talk about Levenger pens. I am a seminary professor and my colleagues and students always want to know where I get my pens. All that I use are from Levenger and I am proud to tell them. The pens feel great in the hand, write well, and of course, look great!

Not if you are hard on your Pens
I twice tried True Write Ballpoints b/c:
a) They were relatively inexpensive
b) They used Parker Gel refills.
Both of them cracked as a result of opening and closing the pen with too much force.
If you are hard on your pens, this is not for you. If you are more delicate, this is a good choice

Write on!
The True Writer black obsidian ball point is truly a nice pen. I found the barrell to be slightly too broad, and the weight could be a tick lighter. But it's craftsmanship is suberb and I will definately purchase other Levenger pens & products in the future.

Classy Look, Great Price
The True Writer Obsidian grabs the attention of my co-workers everytime I pull it from my pocket to use it. Many will ask to see it and are pleased with the feel and impressed with the look of the pen. This is a fantastic everyday use pen!!

Solid Purchase
The True Writer was an excellent purchase. As a college professor, faculty advisor, I use the pen to complete countless forms for students and to grade papers. I use the blue Parker Gel refils, which adds a distinctive touch to my notes.

only one month
i used this pen for one month and it broke. this pen opens with a twisting motion and after only one month, the pen came apart at the seam.i was very disappointed as i had decided to get the pen engraced. that made it even more disappointing. the only thing i can say is that this pen is not made for heavy use (i was using it to write orders in the hospital all day). the return department was very helpful, though
