These are great for adding pen holders to any notebook or journal, no matter what the size. The loops hold most any pen, fountain or ballpoint I have tried. You can pair them, one on either cover of the journal and they also make a pen holder that keeps the journal closed.

Good product that solves an ancient dillema
I recently received a few of these pen loops for Christmas. When I first placed it on my notebook I was disappointed becasue of the size. It seemed very small and I was discouraged to not be able to get anything larger than a pencil through it. A few days later and some use it is now broken in and I am much more satisfied. It holds a pencil nice and tight but I am able to put larger pens through the opening now as well. If the pen is larger it has to be tapered a little at least. Trying to put a Lamy Safari (12.2mm or .48in in diameter with a flat end and not tapered) in it is not possible. However a pen with the same diameter even slightly larger with a rounded and slightly tapered end is not a problem. So the description offered is accurate but a pen with a diameter nearing the maximum must be rounded and tapered to be able to insert it in the pen loop. I am thrilled to have a long sought after solution to have a pen loop for my Circa notebooks. And it is great that you can use a variety of writing utensils from a pencil one day to a wider fountain pen the next, feeling safe knowing that they will all be secure.
