It's so smooth. The colours on the casing is swirls, creamy and rich. People ask me if it's onyx or marble. There are my initials in gold. It's weighs delicately in my hand and only needs a featherlight pressure.I love to write. Not only to string words together but to swoop the ink across the page "off, off forth on swing,As a skate's heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend"This pen is a windhover on the page. I can barely put it down.

I purchased this pen for myself for Christmas. I used only Waterman and Parker fountain pens previously. I wanted a fine nib and liked the colors and that it could contain a second refill in its barrel. The nib is scratchy on paper, the storage for the second refill is misleading since their refills only contain half the ink of my other fountain pens and the weight is not evenly distributed to hold comfortably in my hand. I would have returned after trying it for a couple of weeks but I had it monogramed. I will not purchase another Levenger fountain pen.

Great Fountain Pen
from Houston, Texas
I love these True Writer Fountain Pen. My granddaughter loves to come over and use it to make drawings. We decided that using a fountain pen was a "sensuous" experience!

I purchased this pen as a substitute for my Waterford fountain pen and I love it. I liked that you can choose the thickness of the nib, so you can try a couple of different styles. The pen is well made and writes very smoothly. My only complaint is that the case of the pen is a little translucent and I would have liked it better if it were more opaque. But this does not detract from the quality and I highly recommend that you buy one for yourself.

I saw this pen months before I bought it, and was struck by how beautiful it was, and expensive looking. For some reason, I bought at least 2 other pens before succumbing and purchasing this one- what in the world was I waiting for?!!As with all Levenger fountain pens it flows across the paper, it has a solid feel in your hand, and it's absolutely gorgeous to look at.
This is an excellent pen. The nib has skipped a little bit. But I've had the pen only a week. I've learned that some pens need break in time. At one point the pen was acting like it was out of ink so went to refill it and discovered that it was still over half full of ink. Everything else about this pen is 5 stars. Once I use the pen more and the skipping stops, it will be 5 stars for function.
Geat daily writer
The True Writer fountain pens make great daily writers. The Café au Lait is a beautiful looking pen. I have several True Writers, and usually have 1 or 2 in use, with medium nibs and an assortment of colour. They are very comfortable to write with and are smooth writing nibs. The pens work equally well with converter or cartridge. They are a great value and stand up well to daily use.
Lovely, great flex, and wonderful details!

Wow! First of all, it's such a beautiful pen to gaze upon! The mocha and creamy ivory swirls embrace and intertwine so perfectly. And the gleaming gold details enhances the pen's beauty and really bring together all the colors. I ordered the fine nib and it writes really smoothly. I especially, absolutely love the flex of the nib; it really gives "character" to each stroke I write. The pen has the perfect amount of weight -- not too light nor too heavy, and it's really comfortable to grip and hold. Oh, and I could totally tell how much effort and planning went into making the pen -- the pointed tip of the nib lines up perfectly with the clip of the cap once it's screwed closed. I was very impressed with that!!!

I am a self-described pen freak and have dozens of fountain pens. This one writes and feels better in the hand than many of the much more expensive pens sitting in my drawer. I had been eyeing the color for some time, and could not resist when it went on sale. Great value. Only complaint is that I also bought the rollerball and can't tell them apart when they are capped. I will deal with it. :)
Elegant looking, smooth writing

This pen has a good writing weight when not posted. Might be a bit heavy posted. It looks beautiful and rather classy with the gold rings at the top and bottom. It writes smoothly but not like the buttery smoothness of my sliver True Writer board nib. On sale, this was a best buy.

Pen was exactly as described. Nice box held pen if someone wanted it for a gift. I got monogram which was in a gold color. Quick service from ordering to receipt. Box was much too big for item, which was stuffed with brown paper. I think companies need to use packaging to fit items. Levenger is not the only business that does it, though.
