Oasis Pad Backer with Concept Pad
Oasis Pad Backer
I have loved every product I've purchased at Levenger until this product.
The slit on the Oasis pad was not wide enough for the pad (which was included) to fit into the slit. So, we had to use a razor to expand the slit. Even then, when trying to fit the pad into the slit, it immediately separated from its cardboard back. As I type this, my husband is trying to wrestle the pad - without the cardboard - into the slit.
Even though it is a great idea, and will probably look nice on the desk, it is not functional since the pad is going to break away and is therefore not worth the money.

Many uses - terrific design form
Got this as a desk accessory - for years I have used a desk blotter to jot down the random notes and things during conference calls, skype conferences, and simple "don't forget" items.
The pad also serves VERY well as a lap desk too - turn on the TV, grab the pen and brainstorm.. And if I get a page of great ideas and notes, tear it off, fold it in half, three-ring punch it and it fits perfectly in any 3 ring binder.
Key fact: The paper, when folded, is standard letter sized. Easy to transport - and share.

This desk pad is the perfect size, not so big as to take over the whole desktop. I especially like the organizational convenience of the pads. I ordered red and love it.

Concept Pad is Super
I give the product four stars because the concept pad is wonderful: great for planning and Levenger's usual top quality paper. The Oasis pad backer on the other hand leaves something to be desired. Each time we've attempted attaching a pad to the backer the pad has torn at the glued end. We'd rather not have to tape it back together.

It is so handy and convenient. It keeps my desk clutter at a minimum.

I am a huge fan of levenger products. And I have also purchased their Wirter's Oasis which I think is a fine product. This pad backer doesn't earn high marks from me. (1) The photo (and price) suggests that the product is all leather. The side pieces are leather, from what I can tell, BUT the main blotter under the pad is leather-looking vinyl (note white stiching in photo). The Writer's Oasis has a true leather blotter as a comparison. (2) it is not as stiff as they suggest, making it less than perfect for using while your "lounging on the sofa" etc. it is certainly not stiff as a board, as is the Writer's Oasis.

One of those rare items that is even better than it looked in the catalog.

Two of us in my office use these pads. They're wonderful for project planning, creative thinking and strategy development. It's like having a whiteboard on my desk.
