After discovering the Kaweco Sport fountain pen in a Los Angeles stationery store, playwright Jon Robin Baitz says it lifted him out of the anti-writing feelings he had developed as a child — having been caned for poor penmanship while living in South Africa. “I love its precision, its modesty, its clarity and its minimal fuss,” he told The New York Times. “All I really need is this and a notepad.”
