Thai Pad™

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A Thai Pad for your iPad — and for literacy
Our popular Thai Pad serves as an elegant and sturdy bookrest, holding either tablet or traditional book at the ideal angle. Artisans in northeastern Thailand make each Thai Pad by hand, taking their centuries-old design for a floor pillow and miniaturizing it for a book pillow. You might say that your reading helps their village make a living. Now Levenger is helping to make reading itself a reality in villages like this. We will make a donation, based on sales of the Thai Pad, to the International Reading Association's literacy programs in Thailand, so that hands such as those that crafted this bookrest can now also hold books.
  • Provides the ideal angle for working on an iPad, Kindle or other electronic reader
  • Offers comfortable, ergonomic support for your hands and wrists as you browse the Web or read a book
  • Holds both small and large hardcover books
  • Fold-out seat ensures balance
  • Made in Thailand with 100% Thai silk
  • Filled with a hypoallergenic polyfiber
  • 1.25 pounds
  • Opened, 12W x 12D x 6H
  • Closed, 12W x 6 1/4D x 7 1/2H

Suprise Extra Usage I laid down for a nap and left my Thai Pad @ the foot of my bed so I rested my swollen feet on it and Oh My Goodness!! What a pleasant surprise, the pad was so good 4 my feet!! May 21, 2013
Loving It I purchased the Pad for my daughter for Mother's Day for my grandsons to present to her. There hasn't been one day that my daughter has not used the pad!! It is useful as well as beautifully made and she likes it very much May 21, 2013
Very nice! I wasn't sure how much I needed this but I thought it looked like a nice idea. It turns out I was right. I use it for my iPad. I never thought I was having any issues handling my iPad in bed, but now I know...having a lovely (and quite small) silk pillow to prop it up is a simple, very nice luxury. February 17, 2013
Love but wears thin in areas I love my purple Thai pad and use it is daily to read books and for use with my tablet. I have taken it with me when traveling. It is a perfect piece of equipment and I love the bookmark tassels. My problem with the Thai pad is that it wears out in the lower right corner where my hand/writs cause pressure points and friction from turning pages or regular functionality when using my tablet, etc. I have about a 1 inch split in the fabric and this is my second time stitching it. The silk wears thin and frays...if this does not hold I may consider purchasing the product again. The manufacturer needs to do a better job reinforcing the fabric in the wrist area along with the bookmark tassels (mine fell off but I've tucked the bookmark into the side pocket). I have recommended this item to several family members and friends who have purchased it. I hope they do not experiencing the same issues I have encountered. In spite of my issues, I still use it.... I love it! I bought this as an early Christmas present for myself and was delighted when it arrived. I use it to read in bed and it accomodates any size book. I bought the one in blue/green silk and the fabric is lovely. It is lighweight, but does the job. January 6, 2013
Tai Pad I tried several other book-iPad support systems, and this one is my favorite! I use it in bed to read books or electronic reader. I love the way it folds, it is a solid base so no tipping over. Suggestion: Add an elastic strap across the top of the pyramid to hold books open. December 9, 2012
Changed Review from Elouise Just want to update my review. Levenger called me to make things "right", which was great and appreciated. In the meantime, I started liking the Thai Pad. I think you just have to figure out how to put the iPad on there. Now, I don't want to send it back. December 8, 2012
iPad kept falling off of Thai Pad I bought the Thai pad for my sister-in-law, but I decided to try it out for myself. I was so disappointed. I used it to watch a movie on the iPad (with the iPad set up horizontally). The iPad constantly fell off of the Thai pad. I’m not giving it to my sister-in-law, and if I have time, I’m going to send the one I purchased back to Levenger. I’m a fan of Levenger, but not the Thai pad. November 20, 2012
Tai Pad is a no Pad Not for me..I find it cumbersome and have not used it in a long time. It's in my drawer. I am a bed reader and find it not comfortable at all. I would not recommend. Love Levenger, but not this! October 19, 2012
poor quality THis is the second Thai Pad I have ordered for my 97 year old mother. She loves it for reading in bed and in her chair but the first one lasted less that 6 months before the silk began to wear. It is now in very bad shape. Levenger products are usually a much better quality. I admire your intention in helping people who make this product, but I do hope you could come up with more durable fabric. August 21, 2012
