Most ancient Roman rulers are remembered for battles or conquests. The Emperor Marcus Aurelius (A.D. 121-180) is immortalized for his Meditations—words of searching and contemplation that he composed as a conversation with himself. He never intended for them to be published, but for centuries now, people have sought out his Meditations for solace and strength. We bring you 35 of his most stirring Meditations in a set of 3x5 cards, each one individually designed and brilliantly colored. Here are three of them (shown actual size). We hope you find, as we do, that nothing is as timely as timeless wisdom.
