Best of the Bunch
"I am a fan of the matte version but these have recently risen to the top of the sketch pile. Softer than the 602 and smears less than the matte. Well done!"

"This was a gift to a pencil holdout enthusiast who has multiple desks throughout a one-story home. She received them with great enthusiasm and great appreciation. They are worth the cost for their feel, well-known history, and she was out of them before my gift!"
"I have many pens, but these days I am enjoying the tactile feel of these. And who knew sharpening them, keeping that point fine could be so satisfying. Well worth the price. Just finishing up my first one."
"I find a good pencil makes me more creative when trying to write. Blackwings graphite choices fit different styles. It is a fairly cheap indulgence in the scope of things. 5 stars for the product -1 for the price."
"The pencil business has been in decline for who knows how many decades. So bless Blackwing for making the few we use so beautiful and pleasing. The white is pearlized, like the paint on an expensive car. I bought one of the Blackwing sharpeners, too, which is so finely machined, and pleasing to hold, I leave it out on my desk to admire. Oh, and the smell of a newly sharpened pencil takes me back to grade school when we walked up to the wall mounted sharpener. Anyone remember that lovely wood smell? For me that's what learning smells like."
"These are my fun tool; I have a soft spot for Blackwing pencils and have them in every type and style."
"Not quite as soft as the Matte version but good for a smudge free sketching session. I have a box saved for emergencies......"
"These pencils are great! Very high quality. Pairing your purchased with the Blackwing one-step sharpener is a must. Highly recommend"
"A favorite pencil!"
