Barrister Bookcase - Sentimental Journey
"The Barrister Bookcase is still Crafted & Built in America since 1907, which was discovered upon further research after delivery had been made. Purchased were Base, 2 - Glass Front units, 1 - Fold Up Wood Front unit & Crown. There was a little delay in shipment (received an email from Levenger regarding - about 7 days) upon receipt the finish smelled of a freshly built (Lacquer finish for woodshop buffs) produced by the U.S. manufacturer, it hadn't been sitting around in a warehouse. Light Cherry finish was as smooth as a babies bottom, no roughness whatsoever. Stacked together perfectly in seconds, it took longer to get it out of the well protected packaging boxes than to assemble. Here's the sentimental aspect: As preschoolers (1960) my Dad & Mom had stored my younger brother & my Bedtime Story Books (which they read to us nightly before climbing into the sack) in a Barrister case with the glass doors discarded so as not to be injured. I had only two of the original sections & Crown left, since both Dad & Mom recently passes away, I bought the Barrister Case to store Family mementos for the Grandkids. It's worked out well."

"The bookcase is very nice and I am happy with it. The color is as advertised. No issues at all with this. My issue was that I was sent a couple of pieces (crown and bottom piece) that don't go with the item. I ordered the wrong ones but I would have thought that someone would have noticed this and asked me about it, rather than just sending them. On the website, it isn't clear to a new customer what pieces go with what. So I am stuck with large pieces I don't need (or need to pay to send them back in boxes that are already broken down. So I had to order $500 more to get the correct pieces. Frustrating!"
Careful when ordering
"These are pricey, an actual antique might be cheaper, but I like the way they easily stack. Also, they are probably described better as sturdy than solid, they are light weight, but stacked together they seem very sturdy. When ordering be sure the item code begins FB, the FA is for the files and those pieces cost more and will not fit, avoid a return and delay."
