"I had had similar book weights before, and they are indispensable when I want to read a book while I eat (and for other activities that might require 2 hands but still allow you to read). Unfortunately, I keep losing them. I had never bought one from Levenger before, and this is better than the rest! A little longer, and the weighted ends are bigger and heavier. Will try not to lose another one, but if I do, I'll be coming back to Levenger."

"I purchased this book weight as a gift to replace the same product I purchased from Levenger (as a gift) 11 years ago. Being a librarian, my wife is an avid reader and over the past 11 years that book weight has travelled everywhere with her. - I often read my books in bed, or laying down. Will the book weight hold in this case? I guess I’m asking if it’s magnetic or just works when it’s laid flat. Thank you.
- The Leather Book Weight was designed to be used on a flat surface or slight incline. It would not work in upright position.
- Hello! Does this book weight use lead? If so, it doesn't seem worth the risk.
- The material inside the bookweight is Iron (Fe); there is no lead.
