Don't leave gold and silver here for long
"I had been using this to corral jewelry, watches, etc since Christmas; I'm writing this review in February. I noticed that sterling silver pieces that ended up in the tray tarnished much more quickly than usual, (i.e., tarnish visible a couple of days after polishing) and also, gold earrings developed an ugly dark haze when left in it from one weekend to the next. It seems that there is some chemical off-gassing from the tray lining. I was able to clean my jewelry with a standard metal-polishing formula; but I don't need any extra cleaning chores, so I no longer use the tray for jewelry or watches."
